Learn seven secrets of great nature photographers and what enables them to consistently capture visually compelling images. What do they do that separates them from the next photographer? What habits, instincts, mindsets, approaches, and techniques have they developed? Learn some of the most important but least discussed topics in nature photography. Hint: None of these have to do with megapixels or discussing equipment constantly.

Photograper Bio:

Lee began his photography experience as a child when his parents purchased a Ranger Ready camera and they visited the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in Southwest Oklahoma. At age 16, his mother gave him a Canon AE-1 with a broken meter.  He read John Shaw’s Nature Photography Field Guide and learned the sunny F/16 rule. Using Kodachrome 64 and doing all the exposure calculations in his head, he was forced to learn using manual mode with no assistance from a camera meter. Looking back, this was a huge blessing. He enjoys wildlife, landscape, macro, and night sky photography wherever he is!

He shot with Canon for 25 years until making the switch to Olympus (now OM System). After a year with the new system, he was invited to become an OM System Ambassador in 2019. This is one of the photography accomplishments of which he is most proud. He was recently named a Fotopro and Black Rapid Ambassador in 2025 and 2026 respectively! He currently leads workshops on his own and with Natural Selections Tours.
