Program Description:

ICM and Multiple Exposures: Understanding the Why as Well as the How

In this presentation I want to encourage viewers to understand the whys as well as the hows. There are many possible reasons to create multiple exposure images using ICM images, which I will take you step by step through. With an idea of why you want to use ME in your work you will have a better awareness of how to do it. The presentation includes a step-by-step guide for blending images in Photoshop. It will also introduce ME phone apps for the phone and the possibility for using this practice in camera. As with all my presentations – lots of examples which illustrate my whole thought and execution process to reach the end image.
  • Learn HOW you can elevate your ICM images using multiple exposures
  • Learn the possible reasons WHY you might use multiple exposures
  • Understand the thought process that I use when deciding which images might work together
  • Learn how blending both ICM (and sharp) images can tell a story of your subject matter that one image alone can not
  • Understand the difference between working in camera (blending as you make the image) and in Photoshop (later on)

Photograper Bio:

Charlotte Bellamy is a creative landscape photographer whose work explores the beauty of the natural world through colour, movement and emotion. Originally from the UK, Charlotte spent 14 years living and photographing in the Netherlands before returning to Shropshire in the UK in late 2025.

Known for her distinctive use of Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) and multiple-exposure techniques, Charlotte transforms everyday landscapes, trees and woodland into expressive, abstract images. Her work encourages viewers to slow down, look beyond the obvious and discover the extraordinary in the ordinary.

A Master Craftsman with the Guild of Photographers, Charlotte is also an inspirational photography tutor, mentor and tour leader. Her first book, If the Woods Whispered Would You Hear Them, was published in 2024, bringing together her photography, poetry and reflections on trees and woodland.
