When you look closely at a flower an incredible world of color, shape, form, and detail is revealed. This is a universe that delights the heart and mind with its riotous uniqueness. No two flowers are alike, but all are “designed” to attract pollinators and the human gardeners that help propagate, cultivate, and extend floral species.

In this presentation, master photographer Harold Davis shares from his extensive collection of macro flower photographs. Harold says, “One of the reasons I enjoy macro flower photography so much is that it is so revelatory. The secrets of flowers are shown to those who look closely. At the same time, the sex appeal of flowers in popular culture and in floral photography is undeniable.”

At the same time, photographing flowers intimately requires the same skillset as other forms of macro photography, including lighting and composition and tools such as tripods, macro lenses, and focusing rails.
